Maximizing the energy efficiency in intelligent reflecting surface‐aided unmanned aerial vehicle data collection system in presence of malicious jammers

Abstract In this article, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) aided an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) data collection system is investigated, where IRS deployed to assist in the communication from a cluster of Internet‐of‐Things (IoT) devices UAV presence jammer. We aim improve energy efficiency (EE) via joint design trajectory, passive beamforming, device power allocation and scheduling. However, formulated nonlinear fractional programming problem challenging solve due its nonconvexity coupled variables. To overcome difficulty, we propose alternating optimization based algorithm it sub‐optimally by leveraging Dinkelbach's algorithm, successive convex approximation (SCA) technique, block coordinate descent (BCD) method. Extensive simulation results show that proposed can significantly anti‐jamming performance. particular, for remote jammer case, largely shorten flight path thus decrease consumption signal enhancement; while local which deemed highly conventional systems without since retreating away strategy becomes ineffective, our even achieves higher performance gain owing efficient jamming mitigation.
